I Worked
Sunday was stretchy pants day on the jammy job. That's when the specials are way over priced stretchy pants that drive little old women wild. It's back to back calls of shame and disappointment. It's a day full of otherwise stable middle aged females with high normal standards, turning into cussing, insulting crazies because we sold out of 3X petite two hours earlier and OMG they had a coupon. Then we have to review all the measurements of the 2X petite while they whip out their tape measure and ask us if we think they can squeeze into them. They are, after all, stretchy.
It was a long day.
I Plumbed
I snaked the tap. I poured two bottles of Liquid Plumber down the hole. Today I followed it up with a bottle of Liquid Fire, which turned out to be $10 worth of sulfuric acid.
It's still not moving.
I Sold Stuff
Stretchy pants aside, I sold an old book and some earring charms. I'm slowly adding jewelry making supplies to the Etsy stash. I order them from overseas in large quantities then sell them in my shop. It takes about 2 weeks to get a shipment in, but I can turn around and have them to my customers in days, so it's win win.
I Maimed Myself
Ayla stole a cat food can lid from the trash and hid it under my craft table. I found it with my foot. There was lots of blood. Luckily I am a trained professional. Pressure and elevation finally stopped the bleeding. I've not had my foot that high over my head in a non-recreational capacity in some years. It probably could have used a couple of stitches, but it'll live.
And Today I'm Resting
Squatting over the sewer tap for some hours while I went all swirly with the snake sprained my upper thigh muscles and probably some important parts in my girly bits area. Between that, the foot maiming and my other wonky heal that still flares up from time to time, I've developed a gait like that of Quasimodo if he had club feet and was shackled to a cinder block he was forced to drag behind him.
My sexy... you wish you had it.
So I'm hitting the ibuprofen and crocheting a baby blanket for The Amazon's childhood friend. If I can stay awake.
I'm taking off Friday and the following Tuesday, so I'm looking forward to five days of not being at The Asylum. I might get some stuff done. I might not do a damned thing. Haven't decided.
Ya'll take care, we'll talk again soon.

Of Bunny Fluff, Shady Pines and Trying to Get it Together
![]() |
| Kitteh Kitteh Two By Four |
Lawd have mercy. It's Friday.. we made it.
It's been a wacky week in Mahalaville. Luckily there's been a lull in hours at the jammie job, giving me a chance to catch my breath. I say luckily until I get my check.. but anywho...
I sold two bags of "Little Bunny Poo-Poo" and an ounce of Angora fiber, which is awesome. Sparkles and Peppermint Patty were totally grossed out but they'll get over it. I told Sparkles that it simply proves that I am a marketing genius.
So then yesterday I got a call from Shady Pines saying they were going to sit Ma out on the curb if they didn't get a check and I was all like.. "oh shit" because I've not paid the bill in some months.
Not because of the money, it was just sitting there in Ma's checking account. I just hadn't thought about it.
I've been having problems keeping up with things lately. Let's just say I'm behind.. on life.
Today I did manage to mail my federal and state taxes (finally,) the order for bunny fluff and a check to Shady Pines. I've almost got my truck payment caught back up from the whole brake line brouhaha and my bedroom is starting to look a little more "Victorian-Gypsy-Shabby Chic" and a little less "Extreme Hoarders-Special Report with Diane Sawyer".
Maybe I'll get my shit together.. eventually.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. I have to hit the road early tomorrow and head to the weirdo eye doc to pick up my new glasses. My prescription didn't change from last year, but I took some old frames to have some computer specs made. My bifocals are about as useful as a chicken with a chainsaw when I'm working either job.
After I pick up my specs, I'm going to run by the nail salon, try NOT to stop and coo over baby chicks and ducklings at the farm supply place and head home for a fun filled weekend of housework and laundry.
It's an exciting life I lead here in the holler. I can't hardly stand it.
Ya'll have a good one. We'll talk again soon.

Of Sharpies, Pillow Cases and Little Golden Books
Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.. as we say in the holler.. I hope to have my Etsy shop back up and running soon. With all the mama drama it was just too much to try to keep up with that, move everything from the girl cave back to the trailer and have my fifteen nervous breakdowns, so I put it in vacation mode until I could get all my crap under control.
Since stuff is kinda tight right now, what with Ma taking a big chunk of the household income with her to Shady Pines, I've been trying to think of some new products to sell that I wouldn't have to spend much moolah to make. As I've cleaned out her closet (mostly junque she obtained while working for Aunt Moses, then piled up in every corner of her room.. some might call it "hoarding".. ahem.. ) I've found a stash of possible crafty supplies:
- Picture frames, minus the glass or backings
- A ginormous stack of plastic canvas
- Enough pillow cases to supply a chain of hotels for a year
- Little Golden Books, mostly ripped and/or scribbled upon
I might make earring holders with the frames. I have some hardware fabric left over from my screen door project. I may not even sell those, I might use them to organize my earring inventory. I don't know. We'll see.
I've got gobs of sari fabric scraps left over that I've wanted to bead and make something other than pillows with. I'm thinking bangles.. with plastic canvas strips covered in fabric.. might be cute huh? The canvas would give them enough structure without being too stiff.
I think the pillow cases (and possibly some t-shirts) have a future as shopping totes. I have a pattern for nice lined bags using pillow cases. Goodwill sells t-shirts for a buck fifty a piece, I'm thinking I could make some quickie, unlined, more practical than attractive shopping bags with those, selling them in sets of three or four. Maybe I'll tie dye them using that Sharpie technique I saw on Pinterest.
Maybe the kiddie books.. the covers at least.. might make cute little nursery clocks. Maybe even put them in the frames. I dunno.
Also.. I have the mother load of polymer clay stashed in the girl cave and I found a box of Insta-mold stuff at Goodwill for two bucks. So yeah.. THERE WILL BE CRAFTING!!!!!!
Anywho..
I'd better go pretend to work before Sunshine gets all testy.
Ya'll have a good one. Later Taters!
