Circus Tents, The Count and Walgreens

Have mercy. I feel like I've been trampled by a herd of angry bovine, hell bent on world domination.

After work yesterday, I ran home, grabbed my pill bottles and took off to the Walgreens in Scary Hillbilly Town. One generic Rx from our company insurance costs $50 for a 90 day supply (after you pay the $100-single $200-family deductible.) For $46 at Walgreens, I filled TWO Rx (90 day supply) and paid the yearly $20 "Prescription Club" fee (the family plan is $35.)

Needless to say, I'm tickled plumb pink.

Walgreens had nothing to do with my posting about their prescription plan. This is not a "paid" post. I'm just sharing the knowledge. We gotta look out for each other during these rough times.

After Walgreens, I stopped at the only grocery store chain in Scary Hillbilly Town, sat in the parking lot looking for my stupid "club card," didn't find it, gave up and went to Wal-Mart. So there ya go Food City, those aggravating grocery cards do cost you sales.

At Wal-Mart I grabbed the absolute necessities and a pizza to cook for dinner. Oh yeah and a box of Count Chocula. That chit can't be found in North Carolina. It's like contraband. I hope I don't get arrested for carrying it across state lines.

Mmmmmm... chocolaty breakfast crack.

It was 8:30 when I got home, I missed "My Name is Earl." At least I don't have to worry about Ma running out of Cokes this weekend, we are fully stocked. Now I can focus on getting the housework caught up this weekend.

Yay.

On the way to work this morning, I spotted a structure resembling a circus tent down at the campground. I haven't heard of any biker rallies anytime soon, but that's usually the only big happenings they host.

I shall investigate and post a full report.

For now, I'd better get it in gear and get this Friday in the can.

Ya'll have a butt kickin' day. We'll talk again real soon.

Later Taters.

I loath the club cards, I bet I have 15 of them from one gas station chain, I take one, get the discount and toss it in the trash on my way out the door.

Is that the only thing you can't have in North Carolina?

I love that you posted about Walgreen's prescription plan. It's so easy to complain when a store's policies or service are bad, but I don't think businesses get enough recognition when they do something right. I'm going to try to follow your lead! Being in customer service myself, I know how much it means when someone notices how hard you try to give them a good experience with the company.

If I can help someone save a buck or six, it makes me happy :)

For the life of me, I can't understand why it's $50 from our insurance plan, which I'm still paying a premium for btw, and $12.99 at Walgreens.

It doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe there's gonna be a good old tent revival! LOL...have a good weekend. Oh, and hide the contraband (I mean chocula) carefully!

Chocula is awesome!

I totally miss seeing those stupid cereal commercials. When my kid starts watching cartoons, though, I'm sure I'll see the Count, the Trix rabbit, the Tucan Sam . . . . all of 'em. And I'll want to EAT all of 'em.

Since you mention Count Chocula, have you ever tried the one -I think it's called "Reese's Puff" or something like that. Anyway, it has my two favorite flavors in a breakfast cereal and the 16-year-old here loves it! We won't give it to Maya or Kurtis cause we don't want them to get hooked this early on the sugary cereals since they both love plain cheerios or mini-shredded wheat.
