Not Ready for Monday..

Just when everything else was going horribly wrong, the air conditioner tried to die today. For some reason, it stops blowing cold air, but only when it gets really hot out. Isn't that what ac is for? It finally came back on this evening.

I dread going to work tomorrow. The way things have been happening around me lately, I'm almost afraid. There'd better NOT be any more slithery things.

Did anyone else see David Lee Roth's bluegrass rendition of Jump on Craig Ferguson's show the other night? I think he performed it on Leno another night as well. Is it just me or was that not THE most disturbing thing on television? During the interview, I was in pre-cringe mode, holding my breath, expecting Roth to say something totally embarrassing, but I was caught off guard by his charming, almost well adjusted demeanor. Then, just when I thought my fears were unfounded and that it was safe to breathe easy, he stepped up to the mic and performed with his Hollywood hillbilly band.

Oh.
My.
Gawd.

I expected the vocals to be performed in bluegrass style, with lilting harmonies, to match the music. Although I'm not a huge fan of bluegrass, I've heard alot of it, living here in the land of it's birth and being force-fed it's haunting melodies for most of my life (I took a few banjo lessons myself, when I was still young and impressionable, but that's just between us, kay?) I've listened to alot of music from other genres which has been rearranged for bluegrass ensembles, with decent results. It can be done.

This time, however, it was not.

Bless his heart. That's all I'm sayin.

Thanks for the link! I am looking forward to what you write here as well. I haven't told any friends or family about my ramblings and still I hold myself back from writing things I think and feel. I've got some stuff on my mind, let me tell you, oh yeah baby.

Thanks for the heads up on the new blog site. I updated the blogroll and added this one.
I know what you mean, I'm cautious about who knows about my blog, too.
