I'm back at the Asylum this morning after a three day weekend, but only for half a day. Bubbles (in her jeans) is in rare form, stomping up and down the hall and already calling Bubbahubby twice, when we're only an hour into the day.
Seriously.. I've never seen two people further up each other's bootay. That would drive me insane.
The only other office monkeys here today are Thelma and Lulu.. and neither of them are in a very good mood. Aside from the fact that they despise each other, Thelma has announced to the world that she is depressed and needs to be left alone, while Lulu is in anger mode, ready to snap the heads off small woodland creatures and devour them for a mid morning snack.
When I am the cheerful one in the bunch... it's not a good sign.
My game plan is to keep my head low for the remaining three hours, then sneak out quietly and head for home. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
In other news...
I've been sort of stressed out lately, with the fountains of muck erupting in the bathtubs, the increased frequency of visits by the kin folk, the serious lack of funds and the general state of the union. When I get in these funkified fits of morosity, I cope by planning. Sometimes I design a house, complete with decorations, landscaping and furnishings... all in my head. I can spend weeks constructing my mental Shangri La, only to start all over with a new location and situation when it's done.
Lately, my head has been on the Carolina coast, just south of the Virginia state line. It's rural there, but coastal. I think it's the place I want to end up some day.
Some day..
Anywho.. I've only got a few hours to get stuff done, so I'm gonna get my ass in gear.
Ya'll have a good day. We'll talk more soon.
Later Taters!

I am glad to see you. I missed you yesterday.
Nice picture, nice dream.
I have been to the Carolina coast, so I know of which you speak. I hope you make it there. Hopefully sooner than later.

This describes my life since January!
Aren't we a pair??!! I love that part of the coast too, and now I find out I have relatives there, that I never knew I had.
Er... the Hatteras light is a good bit south of the VA state line if my geography lessons haven't slipped through the seive...
The actual area I'm looking at is so far in the boonies.. I couldn't find any pictures lol.
Well, I can tell you that Bath NC is pretty nice. Small, but nice.
And home of Blackbeard. How cool is that?
We must be the same person. You are describing my life perfectly.
Hope things get better for you!
Ciao!
Well darn. Hope things get better. I have a folder in a drawer in my office. In that folder are pictures, notes, cut outs of all the things I want in and around my dream home. I tell you, I'm gonna have one mother of a house and yard if that folder ever comes true.
It's probably obvious from our yearly trek to the Carolina's and my insistent whining about wanting to be back there NOW that I go to the Carolina's "in my head" almost daily.
:(
Hey, I just stopped in to say Hi! I haven't been able to Plurk much lately :( Hope your day ended up not being so bad. I am dreading work tomorrow...the boss gets in these "OMGwe'reallgonnadiethere'sahurricanecoming" modes and drives me crazy!
How about the Oregon Coast? We want to move there within the next two years, then I could meet another Mahala. I've never met another Mahala, have you?
I'm going to Oregon too! :) Someday. Either sooner or later depending on whether the grad school thing works out.
You crack me up with the work talk. I can't be nearly that objective or funny...I just want to bring in an Uzi and finally work in peace.
them's jokes. I'd just bring in lots of chocolate to get them all happy.
