It looks like Hannah snuck on by us last night, zipping up the coast. She left some clouds down here in the holler, giving us a cool, misty Saturday morning.
My plans for the weekend include more of the same ol, same ol, with housework, some light grocery shopping and working on new shop designs. I was going to order a spiffy new Blackberry from Verizon this weekend, it was going to be "free" with my contract renewal so I was like.. dang.. why not? It was a "previously owned," "remanufactured" phone, but I figure, on my trailer trash budget, that's the only way I'd ever afford one anyway. I logged on to order it this morning and at the very last step, they hit me with a requirement to add at least $30 to my phone plan.
Ummmm no. I think not.
I reckon I'll just stick with my over hyped, over priced LG Chocolate and keep lugging my big, bulky Daytimer around, until they offer me something totally off-the-hook-awesome for free.
Anywho..
The Amazon came running in to the living room last night, waving the Hee Haw County weekly around like something crazy. "Guess what.. guess what.. guess!!!"
I gave her the "omg-you're-23-years-old-stop-being-five-I'm-tired-as-hell-I-have-work-related-body-odor-I-have-no-patience-wtf-do-you-want" look.
"Hee Haw County is having it's first county fair since like.. FOREVER!"
She shuffled through the paper and found the article to show me. Apparently, the county hasn't hosted a fair since 1949, but this October there will be carnival rides, farming demonstrations, craft and food competitions galore. I may actually have to check this little event out. If nothing else, for the photo opportunities.
Speaking of farming demonstrations, did I ever tell ya'll that when the Amazon was in high school, the county 4-H tried to recruit her for her awesometastic pork back fat judging skizzles?
Swear.
The fair will be something to look forward to for a change. Just what the Universe ordered.
But now? Today? Ma is out of Cokes and peed-a-little pads, I'm down to my last gallon jug of water, there are no Poptarts and the coffee creamer is down to a fine dust. It's an emergency grocery situation here in the Mahala trailer and I'll have to get right on that.
Ya'll enjoy the rest of your weekend, we'll talk again real soon.
Later Taters!

"pork back fat judging skizzles" How did they found out she had those? Matter of fact, how did SHE find out she had those?
She had to take a semester of animal husbandry or some crap. They learned to judge livestock. No kidding. She also was required to take a semester of hunter safety. She got a certificate and everything.. a fact I love bringing up in front of her big city college friends :)
Please post a list of lodging in the area. Planning a road trip to see that fair. Thanks in advance. Will I see you there?
My Mom has a doctors prescription for the peed-a-little pads. Hers are more the gotta go now get the heck outa my way size.
the fair sounds like some fun will be had in the holler.
Mahala
Hey, at least your kid was bugging you because she was excited and happy about something. Around here, I'm thinking of sending the 17 and 19 year old to anger management classes... just when I thought they'd learned to get along with each other. Brats.
Peed-a-little - ha!
It's been a while since I posted here. Have any of your other readers mentioned problems posting on your blog when using explorer? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me since you use blogger like everyone else I know (myself included), but I have to use mozilla if I want to post a comment on your blog. It's probably operator error (i.e., something with my computer), but I figured I'd mention it just in case.
OK, when? I want to come to the fair. Ain't NOTHING like a country fair to shout 'fall is here!'
No wonder there's nothing like that around there parts. They took all the country out of this county about 20 years ago.
