While I've been off work, using up all those vacation days, the only thing I've accomplished is perfecting the practice of laziness. Oh I've had grand plans, none of which have played out like they were supposed to.
Last Saturday I had a bad case of the lonelies, the Amazon and Ma were both asleep and I decided there was no sense in my sitting here feeling sorry for myself, so I took Jolene up on the curvy mountain roads, up to the look out and to the trail head. I took a few pictures:
It felt good to get out among the trees and rocks, letting my fingers run lightly across the roughened textures of natural elements. The Amazon and Ma thought I'd left home for good that day. They were both waiting for me when I got back two hours later.
A couple of nights ago, the powers that be cut the electricity off in town for a couple of hours. When they turned it back on, our furnace never came back to life. We just had it fixed a few weeks ago. Due to this development, over the course of two days I had to entertain a representative from the power company twice, an electrician and finally the furnace repair people.
Oh it's been a fun filled vacation, with more to come I'm sure. I'll try to keep ya'll posted. Stay tuned!

It is great to hear from you, I was starting to wonder if you had disapeared until New Years.

Yeah, I got lucky too and got to stay home until the 2nd. I too had/have a long list of things I thought I would accomplish. Oh well. The bags under my eyes have diminished nicely due to the lazy, sleep-in days!! Good for you for getting out with nature and enjoying the sights!
I missed ya Mahala! Great photos, I especially like the "talk to the hand" effect from (I assume) Jolene's window/mirror.
