The cooler temperatures here in town didn't last long yesterday. By lunch the clouds had cleared and the sun was beating down on us like it was August. This put a damper on my plans to take a brisk walk around the building. I don't mind pushing myself, but Lulu complains if I come back in all stinky and uncoiffed.
I used to make three laps around the property each morning and afternoon. I drove it once to measure it, one lap is .3 miles, so three trips around equaled a mile.. or there 'bouts. It's been a few years since I took regular jaunts around the plant, between the blistering heat, snake infestations and my general laziness, I just got out of the habit. Yesterday I decided I'd get back in the swing of things, starting off small going once around twice a day. I'm thankful to report that I made it around without seeing any slithery residents.
Lulu takes walking breaks regularly as well, but she tackles "the hill" instead of making laps around the building. My car even coughs while climbing that hill, it hurts me just to watch her.
I think I'm going to go out and get some air before it gets too warm out.
And remember.. it's Humpday. Hump it real good.
