My old blog has been getting hits from searches under the old blog name, from a local hospital's server. I know who it is, it's making me nervous.
I'm at a loss for what to write tonight, as I have been for days it seems. Ya'll can only take but so many Craig Ferguson references and I'm sick of hearing myself whine, so I know ya'll have probably had enough as well. Today I caught myself comparing joint pain with the lady at the neighborhood grocery, then telling my tale of congestion woes to the cashier at the dollar store.
Did ya'll see the pictures of baby Suri? At first I was a little annoyed at people poking fun at the little tyke, but good Lord did you see that head of hair? It's unreal!!! I'll stop there before this turns into another of my "Be kind to your neighborhood celeb" rants. I've beaten that horse into it's next incarnation.
There's been a baby boom in the panda world (I'm really reaching for a topic here.) A new cub born to a zoo in Atlanta and twins in China. So take that Uncle Milty, pandas are indeed getting their groove on in a productive way. I'm glad someone's gettin' some (sorry.. I will not whine, I will not whine, I will not whine.)
The weather here has taken a fall-like turn with temperatures lingering around seventy (maybe you should take a moment to go find the super charged caffeine beverage of your choice, I have a feeling it's just going to go downhill from here.) It's been a welcome change, the lack of under boob and tush crack perspiration not going unnoticed. With the fall temperatures, however, comes the promise of short gray winter days in Frog Pond Holler. At least the threat of snakes will be gone soon.
Have I ever mentioned that I REALLY don't like snakes?
Okay, enough of this charade, let's face facts. I'm in a mood. I'm fighting it tooth and nail, but it just won't go away. The reasons for my current state are:
1. Two round trips to G'boro in a few days time (But I'll turn around and do it again anytime you want Amazon :)
2. The raging hormones of PMS, with a dose of endometriosis thrown in (screw it, I'm gonna whine any damned way)
3. Trying to make up for taking two days off, the server being down at work putting me even farther behind and the constant, over the top, bubbly disposition of my office mate when I'm sitting there, nose to the grindstone, trying to concentrate (I know she means well, honest.)
4. The decision to separate myself from someone with whom I've been friends for over five years, due to their constant criticism of my life and how I chose to spend my time AND their constant urging that I be more like them, by getting a MySpace account with an unrealistic picture of myself and inviting strange men to my house for a little afternoon delight.
5. Running into the sperm donor unexpectedly at the grocery store. I'm sorry, I'm still a little shaken up by that.
6. Worrying about some things of a personal nature the Amazon is going through at the moment and feeling completely helpless.
7. The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson being in reruns isn't helping.
8. My Brit friend being off gallivanting on vacation, boy is HE going to get an earful when he gets home.
9. Money (nuff said)
10. The two house dogs have bald butts from constant scratching and the Boston Baked Beagle has decided that he will NOT go outside. I think he has an allergy to grass. I bought new flea collars today and I'm going to plan an assault on the dog lot with Sevin dust this weekend. In the meantime, I have to drag the goober butt by the collar and push him out the door to do his business, all the while he's looking at me like I've beaten him with a rolled up newspaper, when all I want him to do is PEE for God's sake before he EXPLODES. Now the little one has decided that if Beagle butt doesn't have to go out, neither does he, but the difference is, Beagle butt won't "go" in the house. The little Chihuahuaranian has no problem hiking his little leg up on absolutely ANYTHING he sees fit. He normally doesn't mind going outside, he's simply decided that he can't be bothered. What's worse is, they'll both come running up to me like they just HAVE to go out, forcing me to run through the house hollerin' "WANNA GO PEEEEE? DO YA? HUH??? LETS GO PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" like it's the single most exciting thought I've had all day, then as we make our way to the back door, they fly by like they're running the Boston marathon, faking me out and leaping onto Ma's bed and wagging their tails at me as if to say, "Ha ha, we made you get up."
So there you have it. All the things that have really been on my mind. I tried to spare you the details, but I couldn't hold out any longer. Tomorrow is Friday, then it's the weekend. By then, the worst of the hormones will have subsided, I'll probably be close to being caught up at work and in between getting the housework caught up, I'll put my feet up and get some rest.
Oh yeah, and then there's Ferguson Monday night.
The end is in sight, we'll get back to normal around here in a day or two.
Promise.

Well, you don't have to worry much about #6. I'm doing fine. The shiney new phone and knowing that I can text Choua whenever I want makes a big difference.
I also think it might be a local number for you, I have to check and make sure...
I hope you get back to normal soon; not that I mind the whining...LOL
Why two round trips to G'sboro?
#4 - you know it was the thing back in the 70's and 80's to randomly bedhop - but seriously, when you are someone's mom and you live in a small town where everyone knows you - this is a BAD option. As someone who tried this path early on - let me assure you, that is it totally not worth it - even if you go without for a really long time - you still have enough respect for yourself not to behave that way.
and #6 I feel ya on that one - having my baby girl at college - even though I know she is amazing - still makes me worry!
And a thought occured to me - maybe there is something you are supposed to be doing that you aren't doing yet... who knows.
Well, let's see....
The mama panda rolled over in her sleep and squished her little one. The biggest thing that saddens me about it is that the stupid zoo worker took the baby while she was sleeping so when she woke it was 'missing'. ARGH. STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to scream at them. She needs time to mourn and they should have let it in there so she could find it, see and mourn. Now that they've taken it, even if they put it back, she will think they killed it and not have the proper mourning.
2. Servers down at work SUCK. I had that about 2 months ago (for a whole week!) and I was ready to rip someones head off. We STILL have 'issues' with it but they refuse to fix them so I have to deal with leftover screw ups on a daily basis.
There, there, it will all be ok. Get plenty of rest (it is easier in the cooler weather,) eat well, laugh along the way. The Brit's should be back from France this weekend.
Happiness is an inside job, money can't buy it, friends don't guarantee it, even a good shag will not assure happiness the next morning (and may bring dispair instead.) Take care of yourself, and do what makes you happy.
Reading your great writing make me happy, please keep it up, I look forward to hearing your view on the world every couple of days.

kenju: I went up there and back to get the Amazon on Friday, then took her back on Monday. I'm gettin' too old for those trips lol.
loner: #4-I sort of feel that way too, but I never judged her for her actions, I just figured it was something she needed to go through. We live, we learn :)
merritt: Oh holy crap!!! I didn't know the baby panda got squished. And yes, the poor thing will go nuts trying to figure out where it went.
DG: I agree 100% that happiness is an inside job. I'm glad you look forward to my rambling, I look forward to your comments as well :) And yeah, some people need to get off vacation lol.
*hugs* hon. Hang in there!
