Food, Flickr and the FFA

That last post seemed a lot better in my head. I was really toasted. But now, I've had a good night's sleep (complete with weird dreams), a shower, coffee and I'm ready to face the day...I think. The Amazon is snoozing on the couch with a very happy and content Boston Baked Beagle curled around her feet. There was much barking, whining and jumping around when she first walked in the door last night, you would have thought it was the second coming. The normally shy and reserved bob-tailed cat came and sat on the arm of the couch beside her and quietly waited her turn. For her, that's excitement. She normally hides if there's any commotion at all.

I'm not sure what the plans are for the weekend. There will be fireworks in town tonight and a band with a street dance. I've heard that music is being provided by the FFA band (that's "Future Farmers of America" for you city folks), so I'm doubting I'll be heading down for the festivities. Dang, I sound like a snot don't I? Oh well, the truth is the truth.

At 8 o'clock tonight on CBS there's a special on how different television shows are made, including "The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson, soooo yeah, I'll probably be watching that. I know, I need to get a life, hush.

If you get really bored and positively desperate for internet surfing destinations, I uploaded a few more pictures to my Flickr account (just click on the Flickr badge....thing....in the sidebar to get there.) Nothing spectacular, like I said, if you're really bored.

There was an article in the weekly county paper the other day about the cell tower situation here. Apparently, the lease was finally granted to U.S. Cellular on August 24th, so it'll probably be another month before it goes up. I don't know why I care. I never go anywhere, I can practically spit on my house from work, but sadly, it excites the crap out of me. I mentioned before that I'd been debating getting an MP3 player, so I've been drooling over the Verizon "Chocolate" phone they've been advertising every time you turn around. It has, among other things, a built in MP3 player, but the monthly plans just seem like a waste of money to me. Imagine my absolute delight when I discovered that Virgin Mobile, my current pre-paid plan provider offers a pseudo "Chocolate" phone!!! It costs the same for the phone, although it doesn't have the GPS or Bluetooth capabilities (no clue what "bluetooth" means so I'm sure I won't miss it.) With the built-in Mp3 player that you can connect to your computer via USB to download music, it makes me giddy.

We'll see, maybe when I get my tax refund.

I'd best be getting dressed and heading to town to find something to fix for breakfast, since I never did make it to the grocery store and people are starting to stir around with signs of consciousness.

Ya'll enjoy your weekend.

That chocolate phone thing looked interesting to me, too. Probably just the word chocolate won my attention! My hubby, the engineer nerd, insisted I need a Treo and bought one for me, with that bluetooth technology. I'm trying to keep up...

The best I fugure out "bluetooth" enables the use of the wirless headsets. Unless you spend hours walking through airports talking on the phone, or have a new wonder car that will allow bluetooth to sink the cars satalite navigation system, why? I'll be due for a new phone in January, I am thinking either a camera phone or one with a built in MP3 player. I am wed to email at home and in the office, I think I'll avoid email when I am traveling between the two (I take a laptop on the road.)

Enjoy!

Bluetooth is a wireless doohickey. My iBook has Bluetooth technology, though I'm not entirely sure what that entails. *g* Though I think if I had a cell phone with Bluetooth, my laptop could connect to it to dial my Internet provider which would be handy if the phones went out. :)
