I've racked up more $$$ since the moment Bubbles left for vacation last Thursday than we've done together in three months. As we speak, Tiny is holding a meeting with the guys out on the floor, explaining that we've been suddenly slammed with orders and although they're still on four day weeks, they're expected to hump it double time and get stuff out the door as scheduled.
That should go over like a Jenny Craig convention in a third world country.
In other news...
On Monday I recieved a call from the Amazon shortly after returning to work after lunch. She was upset, saying something was wrong with Spooky, my long haired Manx. She said the cat had gone into the dog's crate (not unusual) and laid down but seemed to be breathing funny.. which slowly turned to not breathing.. then tears.. and my cat was suddenly dead.
I couldn't leave work, we're seriously short handed at the moment and the only other person working in the office that day was gone to lunch. I told the Amazon to just wrap her up in the blanket she was laying on and I'd take care of it when I got home.
As I drove up to the house that evening, I saw that she'd dug a hole next to the spot where I'd just buried Scotty a short while ago. On a side note, if you ever need to dispose of a body, give the Amazon a call. Girl digs some seriously huge holes.
Anywho.. I buried my little tailess cat on Monday and I've been in a funk ever since. I've avoided sharing because I know that people don't really want to hear about my kitty cat drama, but I figured I owed ya'll an explanation for the profound lack of funny this week. Well that and I didn't want to turn into a blubbering moron at my desk.
So there ya are.
Moving on..
Terri over at Terri Terri Quite Contrary has awarded me with:
I have to say that the feeling is mutual. Instead of tagging anyone specific, I invite ya'll to cruise the list of blog links in my sidebar. They all have made my day at one time or another, be it once a week, once a month or every day.
Any of you who've visited this week from Terri's place, I swear that things are usually a little more upbeat than this. I'm sure I'm not making anyone's day at the moment.
I'll work on that.
Now that I have that out of the way, my plan is to come back later with the usual nonsense. You regular readers know how my plans usually go.. so don't hold me to it.
It's Humpday Taters. We're humpin' it double time here in the holler. Let's hump it together.

*hugs* sweetie. I'm so sorry. It's tough losing pets because they're not just animals. They're members of
the family.
i am so sorry for your loss...
so sorry about your fur-baby. Don't feel like you always have to be upbeat and only share the good stuff...friends share all..and the way you blog you feel like a friend.

The news about your loss of the cat -don't ever feel you can't or shouldn't share that on your blog. It's no different than when we lose a human family member in the way the death of a pet affects each of us. Hurts like hell to part company with loyal, devoted four-legged family members too! Mandy still sees things all the time that bring tears to her eyes about our sweet old cat we lost two months ago and mention dogs to me and I still get teary-eyed over my best dog ever, Duffy, who died 45 years ago this month!
Glad to hear the company's sales are picking up though. That has to be a relief to you and the others as well.
I'm so sorry. There are few things worse than losing a much loved pet.
This makes me sad. I was going to give you a wise-ass comment about the comment you left on my blog, but now I'm going to keep it to myself. I'm really sorry to hear about your little cat, and I hope your week improves.
Awww... I'm sorry about your cat. Being a cat lover myself, I know she was more than just a pet to you.
Oh how sad, I would be a blubbering mess for days. It is good to know who to call when we need to dispose of the evidence, she could make a good living at that in some places.

You know I love me a good cat story, this is not the best kind but unfortunately an inevitable one. Sounds like she went quickly, I know none of mine will be so kind to me. Sorry Mahala. And you make my day quite often - you make me laugh on most days. :)
Just be prepared...You WILL come across a little kitty toy now and then, that he/she had secretly tucked away for a rainy day when he/she had nothing to do and was bored. Hey, my RABBIT died and nearly caved me in!!! It's not whether its a cat, dog, bunny or ant, it's what they meant to us that is HUGE.
I heart you Mahala in whatever mood you ever feel like sharing
My 12 year old "puppy" (a husky named Equinox) died on June 5th.
I understand, and I'm so sorry for your loss.
The others before me are right. This wasn't "just" your cat. This was a family member.
Awww, I'm sorry about Spooky. Losing a cat friend sucks.:-(
Especially finding out that way.
I'm so sorry for your loss. :( I can't imagine why you'd think we don't want to hear about it. We care about you!
I'm sorry, Mahala. I know you loved your Manx.
Awww darn it anyway. I'm so sorry to hear about your furbaby :o( Losing a loved animal is the worst. I'm thinking about you!
