Gawdalmighty it's Friday.. and it's about stinkin' time. I've got several burning issues that I want to vent about this morning, so pour yourself a cuppa and get comfy. Wait.. "burning issues" sounds like a yeast infection or something..
Allow me to clarify, we will not be discussing itchy irritations of the girlie bits.
Let's jump right in with both feet, shall we?
The all powerful hand of Google has come down upon the head of Hidden Mahala and crushed it like a half rotted cantaloupe. That's right readers.. my Google Page Rank.. the universally acknowledged ranking system used by anyone doing business on the vast internets, has been reduced to zero.
ZERO.
It appears that the mighty "G" has appointed itself as the authority on blogger morality and ripped the page rank from every blog that receives payment from PayPerPost. I'm not sure what all lead up to this, I do know that PPP got a little brave publicly voicing their opinion about Google on their blog and that this all occurred the same day. The problem with all this is that most of the advertisers who use PPP depend on Google Page Rank to determine which blogs will qualify for opportunities. As a result, I am now qualified for nothing but the bottom of the barrel.
I'm not sure what, if anything, I'll do about the situation. This endeavor was never for the purpose of making money. It's been my baby, I've coddled it, fed it and watched it grow. I want to write and vent, be creative, tell the world about Frog Pond Holler and its residents. That I was able to make a little extra money in the process was an added bonus and something that I've grown to depend on financially.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do now.
Anywho, next subject...
I applied for a loan from my 401K this morning, enough to make a down payment on a vehicle. The current manufacturer deals on Kia models expire on Monday, the discounts for December should be out on Tuesday. If the discounts are enough, I'm going to take off early one day next week and bite the bullet. I'm watching the inventory at the dealer's website dwindle every day. I'm afraid if I wait until the very end of the month, they won't have what I want. I am a wreck dreading it. I hate to spend money.
I'm going to get a much needed hair cut this evening, then I'm off to the grocery store. I have to remember to get rat poison. Apparently Ma has a roomate. Oh and it's housebroken, it only poops in my pots and pans. I hate to kill anything and I know it's going to crawl of into some unreachable crevice to die, stinking up the whole house, but it's going to have to go. There's a whole mountain up there it can live on and raise it's little rat family, it can't stay in my crappy little trailer.
I guess I'd better get back to work before I lose the one source of income I do have. Ya'll have a great Friday!
Later Taters.

The nasty critters like my pots and pans too. Wonder what that's about?
I'm not sure, but I'll be spending the weekend cleaning out cabinets and giving the dishwasher a workout lol.
PPP and Google are having a spat?
Then PPP needs some other way to determine who's gonna do their work for them. Silly, really.
Rats.....ew. Just. Ew.
Ahh well PPP has come out with their own new ranking system, which is what started the whole thing.
Yes.. Rats.. Ew.
I have rats in the garage that are also housebroken, so to speak. They poop in one big pile in the middle of the Christmas wreaths. What a nice surprise when decorating for Christmas.
Ok, no rats, but there are about 12 mexican guys crawling around on my roof, hamering down new flashing on the skylight that just behind my desk. We had a hail storm this summer, and the insurance company is replacing my 13 year old roof. I do hope that they finish hammering in a couple of hours.

Welcome to the "busted" club, kid. I too just took a dive from a huge 3 PR down to a zip last night. Since I've been listening for well over a week now to other bloggers grump, groan, moan, complain and bitch about this but I hadn't been hit by it, I was beginning to feel a bit cocky maybe - like I was "home free" but apparently that was not the case. What really sucks is I've only done eight paid posts compared to some who have been doing that for a long, long time. (Actually nine posts but one of 'em wouldn't pass through the submission process to PPP so I could never get paid for it and it was a nice paying one too -the cheap so-and-so's ya know!
You do know that if one of the cats or dogs eats a poisoned rat it could kill them too? Bait and trap, not poison.
Oh yeah - something else I thought of too, with respect to your rat situation -I harp year round to my son and son-in-law about their bad habit of going outside using the cellar door and then, not closing said door behind them -an open invitation to all kinds of critters to take haven in the basement and beyond that in the house. But for some reason, I can't seem to get that message across to them. Then, when we end up with mice in the house, the SIL can't seem to comprehend where on earth they could have come from! DUH!
All my blogs took a nose dive last week. I didn't want to look at it so I 'uninstalled' the google toolbar and page rank thing so I haven't a clue what peoples ranks are.
Oh wait.. I TRIED to uninstall it. When you click on "UNinstall" you get a pop up that THANKS YOU FOR INSTALLING IT! LOL. Google is a sneaking little B*stard. (And for the record I've only said that word once in my entire life before this).
So I had to 'disable' it instead.
Anyway - yep - no money coming in here either as I qualify for NOTHING. Sigh.
Melissa: They do seem to like Christmas decorations for some reason.
travel: ewww hammering. I hope you have tylenol.
Jeni: Even though PPP has their "own" internal ranking system now, are advertisers going to spend money for links on blogs that aren't indexed by Google? I doubt it. I'm looking at other options, I'll keep ya posted :)
Miz: Yeah I worried about that too, but I can't empty a trap. I am a wussy baby lol.
Meritt: I'm looking around at some other stuff. If I find anything I'll let you know. I know you, like me, have come to depend on that income.
