Monday Just Got Better

Have you ever worked so hard on the weekend that you were thankful to get to work on Monday morning so you could sit and rest a bit? Between the laundry, the dishes, the ripping of nails out of the wall without a hammer, rehanging curtain rods and moving furniture, I've got aches and pains in places I'd forgotten existed.

I came in to work this morning with a chip on my shoulder. I'd been smoldering all weekend over the fact that Bubbles has three vacation days left, which meant that when she came back to work after taking off for three years, they gave her all the vacation time she would have earned had she worked the entire time. It sort of rubbed me wrong. I sat down with my calendar to decide when I was taking my remaining 30 hours vacation time and thinking that by gawd I'll take my time when I want to because, Jiminy Crickets I've been here and I've earned it. I double checked with personnel to make sure 30 hours was correct (something is always borked up) and after many calculations and three feet of adding machine tape it has been determined that I don't have 30 hours....

I HAVE FIFTY!!

Dang ... I knew I was sick of this place for some reason. I kept a running total but somewhere between June and September I switched the "hours taken" and "hours remaining" total and cheated myself out of twenty hours.

Did I mention that I suck at math?

Ya'll have a peachy freakin' keen day!

To those who labor long and hard (often in difficult and trying situations(although loosing a hammer is frankly careless, I mean just how will you fight off demon bunnys!)) will come the just rewards.

Take the week plus off and enjoy it. Even if all you do is stay home and watch the leaves change color. I am home with a cold. I emailed in sick this morning (aitn't technology great!) I received a response telling me that I never take a sick day and banning me from the office until I am feeling better. I must have 90 sick days built up.

I can fight off demon bunnies with the screwdriver I bought yesterday lol.

DG, I'll be off December 22-January 2! Plus the day before Thanksgiving (making a five day break).. AND I'm taking half a day off on November 30th, the day of Craig Ferguson's appearance in Big City. I think I'm taking November 2nd off too.. just for a three day weekend.

P.S. Feel better :)

Hope you don't mind, but after reading your posts on the SEO Organization MEME (and loved your posts there too I must say), I added you to my faves list on my blog.

Sounds like a good thing you were a little miffed about the leave/vacation thing, otherwise, you wouldn't have know you had those fify hours of time accrued now would you? Use 'em in good health!

Janice..Oooo I did my time in algebra way back when. My brain is too feeble for that stuff now. You should see me stressing over cheese in the grocery store, trying to figure out which is the better deal.
