Puppy Drama and Being a Wuss

When the Amazon called the vet's office yesterday afternoon to see how Sammy's surgery went, they told her he'd be ready to come home around four, so she picked him up. Most of his back is shaved, he's got a gazillion stitches, four large drainage tubes hanging out and of course, the traditional vet-issued head gear. I took one look at him and my heart broke.

He's going to be fine, I'm sure but I'm such a big wussy baby lately. I put some blankies and towels down on the couch for him and he eventually worked his way up there. I sat beside him with his rump backed up against me, patting his rearend with one hand, wiping tears with the other. I'm such a dorkwad.

Anywho..

The cupboard is bare. Mother Hubbard really needs to get her butt to the grocery store today. We're down to a pack of fat free wienies and some pinto beans.. two great tastes that don't taste great together! I don't know how I'll muster the energy to go. I feel like someone's hooked a Hoover up to my ear and sucked ever last bit out. I guess it's from so much going on around here at the moment.
I still don't have my car back. I really thought Cletus would call me to come get it yesterday but he never did. Let's just pray it's because they didn't have the right belt in stock and had to order it or something else simple... and cheap.
I'm going to go find something totally mindless on the television and lose myself in an overdose of brain candy until the dishwasher gets done and I can reload. Ya'll enjoy your Saturday!

Snuggle with the pup, you need one another today.

I'm so glad Sammy is home and I know how the heartbreak feels. It's so hard to see them all shaved and the cone is just so dramatic looking. Did they tell you to limit his activity? Dog across the road had to be kept on leash all the time, even in the yard, for 6 weeks so that the stitches healed. Big hug from me to Sammy - and you too.

Glad the surgery went well, take the time to just snuggle and recoup both of you...
