The Germs Will Get You

I'm so thankful for this break in the weather. It's noon and the temperature in the holler is only 67°. I woke up yesterday morning with a head cold, compliments of Bubbles and her school aged spawn. Every year when school starts, the office gets hit with colds and other icky stuff going around. I thought it was going to miss me this year, everyone else has been hacking, snorting, sniffling and gagging like a waking ninety seven year old grandpa. I sprayed disinfectant, kept everything wiped down, used half a bottle of hand sanitizer in a week, but it got me anyway.

Let the snot churning begin.

Sammy is still among us. He mostly just lays around and looks petrified. He tried to go hide in Ma's room yesterday, that's where he goes when he needs comfort, but he got his cone hung on a chair then just stood there, afraid to move. I finally got him turned around, but he wasn't happy about it. He goes back on Wednesday to get the cone off and to have the drainage tubes removed. We'll all feel alot better after that I think. I don't envy the Amazon taking him back to the vet, I have a feeling he's not going to be quite as happy to see them this time.

I never made it to the grocery store yesterday, instead I ran to the dollar store to pick up a few things then I left the van there and cut between a storage shed and a dumpster to go to the little grocery mart in town. Their meat and produce is so much better than the big chain store. I picked up some chops, maters and taters, enough rations to last us a day.

I'm going to go see if I can find some granny panties so I can head across the mountain for the hunting and gathering. Ya'll enjoy your Sunday (and thanks for all your well wishes :)
