A New Beginning

Thank ya'll for listening to me whine. And thank you for the emails.. it's good to know I'm not alone. Sometimes when we go through difficult times, its easy to think you're the only one in the world it's ever happened to. I wasn't going to post the previous entry, I thought it sounded too hateful, but if nothing else, I try to be honest.

As for Ma, well, I've not locked her in the closet, but I've threatened to a few times. I don't know if it's her age or the onset of dementia causing her actions. It seems to me that she's always been this way.

Hey it's a new year.. a new beginning right? We'll see. I made a big pot of pinto beans (the store was out of black eyed peas) and some cabbage for dinner last night. Beans and greens are supposed to be good luck for the new year, beans representing coin and greens or cabbage for paper money.. or fertility or some shit. Anyway, I'm not taking any chances, so I cooked a bunch. That's probably what we'll eat the rest of the week. If you decide to go to Frog Pond Holler, you can probably follow your nose right to my trailer.

I need all the luck I can get.

Oh and praise (please enter the name of the Supreme Being of your choice), Craig Ferguson comes out of reruns tonight. I'm not complaining.. honest, the shows they've played in the past week were all worth watchng again. Especially the interview with Betty White (love her!) and the thrill of seeing Hinder perform "Lips of an Angel" not once, but twice. That song gives me goosebumps every time. I think it's because I've actually had the phone conversation it depicts in the past.

Maybe Ferguson will have Barney Slash on this week. I could use a little Barney to lift my spirits... *sigh*.
