Scattered Thoughts

I'm in better spirits today, although I'm still pretty pooped. I really, really want to take a nap, but if I give in this late in the day I'll never go to sleep tonight.

We lucked out for our trip yesterday. The temperature hovered between sixty and sixty-five for the whole trip. Perfection. The Amazon had a couple of friends meet us there to help move her in, so I didn't have to lift a finger. All in all, it went well.

My current favorite t.v. commercial features the Capital One village pillagers. "Burn the village to the ground.. DOO-DAH.. DOO-DAH." Oh and the one where they've formed a rock band. "Heeeeeeeelllllllllllllgaaaaaaaaaa!!!!"

Yeah, I need a hobby.

Speaking of which, I've got the camera batteries charging. So far the only shots on my new flickr account are the other pictures I took in Las Vegas. I took my camera yesterday and whipped it out to take a few shots as we crossed the Eastern Continental Divide, referred to here as "the gorge." The fog was so thick as we went over the top that you couldn't see more than a car length in front you. Unfortunately, that's when I discovered that my batteries were kaput.

I've been looking on the web for a deal on an mp3 player. Yes I'm a wee bit behind the times. I'm still burning cds to play on the stereo. I'm thinking about getting the one sold exclusively at Wal-Mart (you might be a redneck if..), it's called The Cube or something. It's the one I almost got the Amazon for Christmas, before going to Best Buy and finding a better one. Maybe we'll get another bonus check soon and I can spring for one. I know, iPod is the end all, be all of mp3 players but I think I can wing the Wallyworld version easier.

I'm currently downloading "Hell is for Children" by Pat Benetar. I haven't heard that song in ages, but it came up in conversation with the Amazon on the way to G'boro yesterday. I can remember cruising in my beat up old Grand Am with the cassette player going full blast, playing that song over and over again. I'm sure my neighbors loved me.

Okay, my ass rearend is falling asleep, I'd better get a move on and wash some delicate underthings so I don't have to go to work tomorrow "commando."

Ya'll have a good week!

It is good to hear that you are feeling better. A longer break in the heat waive might help.

I am still car shopping. I keep checking with friends of mine that do probate law, trying to find a gently used little old person's car. A little goulish and a coworker tells me it is bad fung something to buy the car of a dead person, but I may get a shot at a 6 year old car with 11,000 miles on it this week. The dearly departed can ride along for a few years for that kind of a find.

MP3 players. I have two, an expensive one with a built in rechargeable battery and a 5 gig hard drive and the other a cheapy that uses AAA batteries and a 512 SD memory card. I use the cheap one more then the good one. 512 is 4-5 hours of music. Being able to easily change the battery is a real plus. It lacks an easy way to search through the music. The good one holds a ton of music, I love that. It has a very good search function that enables me to sort and search through the 50 CD's worth of music that is stored on it. The downside of the more expensive one is that the battery has to be recharged avery 4 hours or so (I have a car cord and a cassette adapter so that I can play it in the car.) The hard drive model is a little less robust, if it gets shaken hard at the wrong time the drive will spin and not find anything until the battery goes dead and it resets itself (I have had that happen once.)

The best of both worlds is a 1 gig flash player that uses replaceable batteries. Some of them have a decent search and sort function for the library. You will want a casset adapter so that you can play it through the casset player in the car (some new cars have a plug in for MP3 players . . . standard on the new GM radios, the standard Chrysler/Dodge radios but not the upgraded Chrsyler/Dodge radios, Scion (the cute little Xb.)

Enjoy!

I didn't buy a "name brand" MP3 player and it cost less and had a few more features than the shuffle. It works just fine but there is one thing I miss... I'm an accessory freak and there are no accessories for anything out there but the IPOD, of which there are 4,000 doo-dads.

If I couldn't find an accessory...I'd bling the crap out of it XD

Also...OMG MOMMY, TOMORROW I GO TO SKOOLZ!

I'm skeered.

So what's wrong with going to work commando style? You could get that bonus you're hoping for...
