Lunchtime Blogging

There was no post yesterday, I was in a funk last night and I just didn't feel like sharing. My current financially embarrassed state was getting to me, but now I have a game plan and I think it's going to be okay. And no, the plan doesn't include my going into the coochie dealing business with the thirty dolla' ho across the road. Not yet anyway.

Part of my mood is caused by the constant headache I seem to be carting around with me lately. Considering the state of my shnoz, I'm pretty sure it's due to a sinus infection. Doesn't that just put a sexy image in your head? I'm so sick of churning snot.

I think I need to buy some new DVDs to record on. At least I hope that's what the problem is. This morning while watching Craig Ferguson, he suddenly started skipping words and jerking around like... a bad William Shatner impression. It had better not be the DVR. I've only had the stupid thing six months. I did notice a few inches of dust collecting on top of it, I guess it's possible that I just need to clean it, along with the rest of the house.

The heat has finally eased up here in Frog Pond Holler. Today there's a nice cool breeze blowing, it's beautiful. It makes me want fall to hurry and get here.

I've been listening to a different radio station at work, out of California. Y-102 I think? I have no earthly idea where "Apple Valley" is, I'll check Google Earth when I get home tonight, I just know it's a nice mental break listening to a broadcast from some far off place while I'm sitting here in hillbilly hell.

Back to work for me. Maybe something totally fascinating and blog worthy will happen before I get off work.

It is good to hear from you. On this side of the hollar we are still waiting for the heat to break.

Take care,

DG

Not all blank DVDs are created equal, so that may well be the problem. According to research I've done, TDK, Maxell and Sony are supposed to be the best.

Apple Valley, CA is sort of northeast of Los Angeles, I think.

My heat broke and is back again already *sigh* A girl just can't win for losing.

Isn't it funny that while you are in hillybilly hell, yesterday I spent an hour gazing at real estate and land in your area and wishing I was there?

... everyone wants to be somewhere they are not.

DG: the break was short lived. By this afternoon it was back up to 93. Oh well.

Tori: I think I'll have to make a Walmart run this weekend.

poopie: Don't despair girl, it won't be long 'til we'll be begging for a break from the cold lol.

aka_mer: Too true. There was a time when I longed to live here too. And I don't mind the area that much, I just don't like being THIS far out from everything.

Apple Valley is in the desert. It sounds like it would be wooded and green, but it's just dirt and sage.

melissa: Well, dang! The radio station plays good music at least. By the way, for some reason, your blog won't load anything but the header for me since I went to IE7. I miss seeing your pictures! How's the critters?

Mahala,
Sinus infection? I feel your pain. I'm on my third one in a year's time. I'm getting tested for allergies and am on anti-biotics that aren't working quick enough. Try Afrin nasal spray (Walgreen's store brand is good too). I got the "Severe Congestion" version of the nose spray with a spray pump; really shoots the stuff up in there. Clears me up for a good 12 hours. But then plugged up again by morning. Yuch!
