I got home about an hour ago from taking the Amazon back to college. Regardless of how many times I do it or how old she gets, I still feel like I'm abandoning her when I put the van in gear and make my way off campus.
I managed to make it all the way home before I turned into a heaving, crying, snot churning moron. It's a new record!!!
It'll take me a few days to get used to the quiet house again and to remember that now, I get to actually HOLD the remote control, that there won't be endless sentences beginning with "This one time.. on Family Guy.." and that I can stretch out on the couch without having to threaten, beg and bargain for my turn.
It'll probably take at least a week though, for Sammy and Yoda to stop running to the door and whining everytime a car goes by, thinking she's home.
Okay, that's all for tonight. If I don't stop this is going to turn into a pathetic whine-fest.

At least you can understand it, but the poor animals have a harder time. My mom told me tht when I went off to school, my dog would go to the front door everyday at 3:00 pm and wait for me to come home. Poor baby....LOL

Oh, there, there. You will be ok. It takes time. I can remember my mother fussing for two weeks when my oldest sibling left the nest, by the time it was my turn she started packing things in boxes for me.

Awww I'm sorry! I know I'm going to be a wreck. BabyGirl doesn't go to college for about 3 years yet and I tear up and start to cry when I TALK about it.
It's downrignt sad, ain't it? I dread the day that mine moves out.
Well, I feel much better now - our drop off is Wednesday - and I am dreading it. We had a going away party - and I thought I would lose it right there!
