Things that go Bump in the Night

Night before last, I had one of my weird dreams. I meant to share it with all you fine folks yesterday, but I got on my celebrity rant and forgot all about it.

I was in a strange city full of lights, traffic and buildings sandwiched tightly together. I noticed a lady walking out into traffic, leading a little girl by the hand. They walked out onto the median, cars were buzzing by. She told the little girl to wait there, that her father would be there soon to pick her up. The girl, Jenna, was small for her age. She had a long brown ponytail, she was wearing a skirt and she had one of those little plastic backpacks on. I remember watching her for a moment, scared she'd wander out into traffic or get snatched up by a pervert. It seems I knew both her and her father, knew where he worked. I went over to her and told her to come with me, that we'd go find him. I was really worried about leaving her there. After that, we wandered up and down the streets, getting lost. It was one of those dreams where you have to get somewhere, but things keep getting in your way. I remember going into panic mode towards the end because it was time for her dad to leave work and we were going to miss him. It was right after that that I bolted awake.

Here's the clincher. I don't know ANYONE named Jenna, anyone with a little girl who fits that description and although I had a sense of who her father was, to my knowledge he doesn't have a daughter. It was all very strange.

So yesterday morning at my desk, I was listening to this radio station out of L.A. over the internet. It's like a little mental vacation while I'm at work, listening to the traffic reports and news from the big city, allowing me to forget I'm still in Frog Pond Holler. On Monday mornings they have these psychics on and I was only half listening, thinking more about the dream from the night before, trying to make sense of it. This woman calls in asking about a dream she'd had. I didn't really catch what she said, but I heard the psychic say that if a dream ends by you bolting awake, then it wasn't a dream, it was a visitation.

Pretty farkin' odd he'd say that as I was sitting there contemplating that very thing.

Time for dinner, it's some mucked up crap from a box. It's too danged hot to cook.

Later Taters!

have you Google'd "Jenna missing" or something more in line with whatever your hunch is regarding it's meaning or direction?

Nope, didn't think of that. Weird since I tend to google everything lol. I thought I'd just post it and see if it hit a nerve with anyone. Of course now, I'll have to go a' googling.

That is creepy, you will have to let us know if you find out anything.

yea, I'd have to agree. I don't get them with nearly the intensity you do - but when it is that vivid and I wake up abruptly and with a good memory of the dream, well, lets just say I have learned NOT to ignore the hints. I have a Jerra, but she is a blonde - and definitely not small for her age!

It was a dream, woman. If it wasn't you haven't exactly helped some poor little girl now have you. Just got her more lost. Call yourself a mother....:-)
