Mr. Sparkles, Moonlighting and Bunny Rabbits
It's colder than penguin snot in the holler this morning. My desktop thingie says it's 42° but I think it's lying.
Here at The Asylum, everyone's flittering around, rearranging furniture and whispering in preparation for the return of Mr. Sparkles. Rumor has it that he'll be coming back to work at the end of the month, taking a position in the engineering department. Jabba is not a happy camper. Neither is The Groper. Jasper has been right in there whining with them, although I don't see how it affects him. I think he just likes jumping on the bandwagon.
I'm not sure how Bossholio feels about them re-hiring the former sales manager. It has to make him a little nervous.
Meanwhile, my job outlook has improved. At the office business has picked up, I booked nearly 40K yesterday. I'm doing more work with one day less a week, but it's okay. I'd rather be busy than sitting here picking my nose all day. Also, I got a "you're officially hired.. almost" email from the part time work-at-home place. All I need now is to pass the background check, then I'm home free. Before I came to work at The Asylum, I was a bank teller over in Scary Hillbilly Town. I had to be bonded for that position and I've not had any excitement in my life since then, so I should be good to go.
Keep your fingers crossed.
Back at the trailer, the bunnies are settling in. Cicero (Lulu calls him Igor, because he's sorta lopsided,) doesn't put up a fuss being handled anymore. He scootches against me and chills out in my lap while I brush him. He is a cuddle bunny. Reginald, on the other hand, seems to think I'm going to eat him. He does okay for a minute or two, then he gets all panicky. I know they'd never been brushed before I got them, but for the most part we've gotten their coats in shape. The wool on their little tummies, however, is all pilled up and they do NOT like their tummies touched. I think me and The Amazon are going to have to team up on them and have one hold the bunny while the other tries to clip the hair. A brush ain't gonna do it. Maybe if we start over from scratch, by the time it grows out they will be a little better about their tummies being groomed.
They have an extension built on to their hutch now, so they can run amok unattended. It's covered so I don't have to worry about something trying to get them. There was a little Redneck engineering involved with some zip ties.
I love me some zip ties.
Anywho, it's humpday ya'll. Hump it hard or don't hump it at all.
We'll talk again soon.
