Scary Cornfields and Scarecrows

Don't ya'll love Mondays? At least I only have to work two days this week, knowing that seems to make all the BS a little easier to take.

I was so proud of myself at the grocery store Friday night. Not only did I have $17 in coupons, but I got a bag of Chex Mix for .........drumroll please...... NINE CENTS! I'm ashamed at how excited I get when I score a deal on something at the store.

After the hunting and gathering, the Amazon and I were out in the parking lot loading it all in the hippy van when my cellphone started ringing. I looked at the Amazon.. she's the only one who calls me yet, there she stood. The only other phone calls I ever get are wrong numbers and people speaking Spanish. It took a moment for it to dawn on me what the person on the phone was saying, but it was none other than Meritt from It's Just the Coffee Talking! Apparently she was sitting in a cornfield on Friday night playing with her cellphone. Isn't that what everyone does in Iowa on Friday nights? (just kidding!)

She went on to explain that she was dropping something off for her daughter, there was something about a lion or a tiger... I'm not 100% sure.. I just know I kept thinking about that horror movie where the scarecrow comes to life after being inhabited by the ghost of the mentally retarded man who was tormented and abused all his life, climbing down from his spot in the cornfield to get revenge.

The thoughts of being alone in a cornfield scares me way more than being stranded in some inner city housing projects.

Anywho, the rest of the weekend consisted of some pooper scooping, laundry, dishes... the norm. I'm looking forward to being off the rest of the week, if I can just make it though tomorrow without getting fired or killing anyone.

Gobble Gobble ya'll.

Please don't do anything to get your fanny fired over the next two days as being suddenly unemployed would sure put a kink in the thankfulness stuff dept. wouldn't it? Take care and Peace, kid!
